Late Spring in 1970 I was a grad student in Upstate NY when NKP #759 came through pulling a tourist train run by the "High Iron" company. This was the same trainset which had been used the year before by them to commemorate the Golden Spike. Rumors say that the locomotive was ruined by over-work, but I don't know the whole and complete story - I just know that I enjoyed seeing it.

According to Wikipedia, ". . . Today, the locomotive remains on static display at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania."

Modern trains are sleek. Old locomotives have character. I love the shot!
