Love It......great image that could certainly tell some stories if it could only speak.
Indeed it could - glad my image conveyed that sense of passage of time and stories forever to remain untold...

I've been a Hedgehog fan for several years; never even registered, but had to today just so I could comment on this photo. It is absolutely one of the best photos I have ever seen, and I've obviously seen hundreds on this site. I'm an amateur and hardly a critic; just saying it just appeals to me on so many levels. Landscape/rural are my favorite subjects, guess that's why it is so appealing to me.
What a wonderful comment to just make my day!! Thank you so very much for taking the time to post your thoughts - I truly appreciate it! Take care, and keep posting!
Wonderful, appealing image. Love the angle you took it from. I can see it on the cover of a great book!

Nice image - I love the effect!
One suggestion - reframe with the house in the right side of the frame so there is more space to the front of the house and see how that works.

Thanks for the idea, Stan. I did try that approach when I was working on this image. However, after trying it, I purposely left more of the fields on the backside of the house to add some emotion (expanse, looking backwards) and to accentuate the flying geese. Seemed to convey more of the feeling I was trying to create... appreciate your input!
So good. Lots to see for memories
I like the mood of your image. I think the storm clouds enhance the story of the aging and loneliness of the empty house. Bev
You should definitely print and frame it!!
If not for the geese, I would have thought the house is too far to the left. The geese really add to the wistful mood. Love the colors, composition, and "feel" of this photo. Abandoned old house photos always make me think of the day the house was completed and the owners moved in; what their lives were like, how much family history was lived out there, what were the reasons for moving out, and where those people are now. Great photo!
It’s very haunting and mysterious!

And I have just shown it to Jeannie and she loved it!
Great shot Tommy. Really like the PP work.

I feel the sense of lonely abandonment even the geese flying overhead are leaving ! Beautiful Picture !!!
Very nice. The skein of geese was frosting on the cake. The stories might be depressing ones of a hard life and broken dreams.
