Thank the last administration for this.
Giving in to the fanatical Iranian leadership further emboldened them.
You can’t deal with fanatics.
They want chaos now. Chaos will hurt the re-election chances of the current President which is in their interests.
Get a naive Leftist in there again, and the Iranians can resume their nuclear ambitions.
Just my opinion.

Ridiculous. Thats a simplistic assessment. Various ideological beliefs play a much larger role.

All those midnight billions didn't do anything good for the world.
Obummer got a cut of that in his offshore account.

No, money is NOT the root of all evil. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

You short-changed that quote. The original says, "The love of money is the root of all evil."

These were drone attacks. Many attacks according to the News. The Iranians use of drones are pinpoint. Advantage, no loss of life by Iranian jet pilots. After this setback, the Saudi's need to develop an air defense missile system. Because, this can happen again. The Iranian Embassy hostages crisis was 40 years ago. 1979 under President Jimmy Carter. And Iran is still causing troubles in the Middle East. America doesn't need Saudi oil anymore. Prices should remain stable in America. Hopefully? Politics is also a factor in these incidents.

so the Iranians are causing the trouble? Ever think that maybe the US murdering their duly elected Prime Minister in 1953 and installing a US pet dictator might have something to do with US - Iranian strained relations? Nothing happens in a vacuum.

Just think if the situation was reversed do you think that the US would say , Oh yeah ! we did elect the wrong guy, sorry about that, thanks.

There are very very few countries that the US empire has not threated either militarily or economically , and usually because the were not willing bow down to US demands, whatever they were, and the US considered that a "dangerous thread".

This is one of my favorite subjects. The U.S. entered an agreement with Saudi Arabia to use their influence as the leader of OPEC to sell oil on the world market in U.S. dollars only. The U.S. would reciprocate by treating them with a favored nation status and helping them build their military might. This allowed the U.S. to expand the national deficit due to the world demand for oil and hence the U.S. dollar. Decades have since past and world politics have changed. Russia, China due to sanctions against them and the EU have tried to barter for oil in their currency however to date it has had little impact on the U.S. dollar

A move by Saudi Arabia to ditch the dollar would resonate well with big non-OPEC oil producers such as Russia as well as major consumers China and the European Union, which have been calling for moves to diversify global trade away from the dollar to dilute U.S. influence over the world economy.

Should the oil trade in other currencies happen the demand for the U.S. dollar will decline dramatically and the U.S. will be highly stressed to pay any of its debt.

United States is completely oil independent now thanks to the current administration and we are now a major exporter as well. Just makes the middle east that much more irrelevant to the world.

If we’re so oil independent, why are sabers being rattled at Iran? Why should we care what happens to
Saudi oil? We care because our oil is basically bunker crude sludge that we suck out of rocks. It’s good for greasing u-joints, not for refining into gasoline.

Thank God we are independent of the Mid- East but it is unfair to give all of the credit to the current admin. Independence did not happen overnight. A lot of work went into this and it started long before the present admin. Fortunately the present group has continued the past policy
