My father pulled me to the side during the reception after my wedding. He casually said, "You now have a clear choice with your wife. You can always be RIGHT or always be HAPPY. You must pick one. You can't have both."
Sometimes my wife and I would argue. My father would repeat what he said at my wedding reception. Over the years it had more impact each time. My father has passed away but that is one of the HAPPY memories I have with him.

The older I became, the wiser my father really was. LOL!

I'll just sign myself off with
Happy Shooting!

Sometimes I listen, but when she treats me like I'm ready for assisted living, I don't listen. Like getting up on a ladder.

And as I've learned to add..."Yes, dear....anything you say dear....I'll be happy to dear". It's worked out well for 54 years so far.

Kind of depends on how long they yammer on. My wife is the lecturer type. So i often become the tune-her-out type.

We all remember the line, "Do you take this woman to be....."
We are so taken up by the moment that we do not hear the rest of it.
"....Anything you say can & will be used against you!"

Each party to the marriage should remember Rodeoman's Dictum.. Each of your mates could have done a lot better and each of you could have done a lot worse.
