Caught them returning to the old Rock Island Depot here in Abilene, KS today. Might be one more run later this year, otherwise she will be put away until next year. She needs a bath!

I like to look at this detail!
I'm not an expert but, this looks like Walschearts (spelling?) valve gearing.
Thanks for getting/sending these images!!

Most welcome. Have not the foggiest idea on the valve gearing, I just like to watch them run.

Absolutely beautiful, great job. So dearly love seeing these steam locomotives in action. Mahalo for sharing.

You were close, Walschaerts valve gears according to Google. This must be why people are always saying "Google it".

The Walschaerts valve gear is a type of valve gear invented by Belgian railway mechanical engineer Egide Walschaerts in 1844 used to regulate the flow of steam to the pistons in steam engines.

Thanks all. I just find them & attempt to "shoot" them. Sadly some great steam engines I will never see for their location & mine do not correspond ....ce la ve. Glad to share with all.
