Thank you HardworkingGal.

I thought when I retired I would have lots of time to go out and do the things I love. Unfortunately, like most people, time is still my enemy. Getting out to shoot somehow always seems to get pushed down on the priority list.

As a street photographer myself, I can't wait to see your art festival/farmers market pix.

ThomJ4 it appears from what I have seen of friends that have retired they all say the same thing, "I don't know how I ever got things done before I retired, because now I never to seem to have time to do anything!" My thoughts on that is that we all have this misconception that when we retire life gets easier when in reality it's just we no longer go to a job at a specific time everyday...that time gets replaced by other things that must be done that we had pushed down on the priority list...with that being said I have set a priority to learn photography and when I retire my new job will be to be a photographer so that I will be doing something in my golden years of retirement that I love and enjoy and the time that I now have prioritize to learning can be used to do those other things that I have pushed down on the list now....just a rearrangement of the priority list...keeping the most important thing in mind...that my life is lead working hard but still enjoyable no matter what comes my way along the journey....
This morning while out shooting around my home first I noticed a chill in the air, a little reminder that another summer is soon to come to an end, and then I noticed the plant nursery next door have started getting in their mums, yet another reminder and as I walked around Mother Nature, with the sound of the geese flying overhead and the withering of summertime's finest confirmed that within the next month the jackets will be coming out and the sandles will be put away...

Wow, Dusty, I am impressed! You took these with a phone? These are great shots! Now I'm scratching my head wondering where I am going wrong.....I just can't get clarity, no matter what I do... Was thinking of getting a new camera, but now I'm wondering if it will make any difference....

Welcome everyone to the twelfth "No Host, Just Post, No Obligation Weekend". This should be the last weekend for “No Host, Just Post, No Obligation” Weekend challenges.

Thank you Roadrunner for hosting the Challenge: "Shooting in solitude" Aug. 19th – 23rd. Again sorry, I just didn't get the time to participate this week.

This week has been one thing after another. Honey I need you do this, Mom can you babysit, school started on Wednesday, and the weather absolutely did not cooperate, with storms and flooding most all week. Elderly neighbors needed help with trees that were damaged in last week’s Microburst cleanup. So my camera time didn’t commence until around 5 o’clock this evening. I always shoot in solitude, not necessarily because I want to, but more because, out here in the country, there aren’t any other photographers that share my interests in shots. But then again, maybe that’s a good thing. Here lately I haven’t been able to get into the woods anyway.
So, I will share what I managed to come up with from around my place this evening. Even with all the fury that mother nature presented us with last week, there is still beauty abounding around us. You just have to look for it.

With this being the last weekend of “No Host, Just Post with No Obligation Challenges, post whatever you like, but do keep in mind that this is a family friendly section.
Comments on submissions are welcomed but don't feel obligated to comment. Please don't be offended if your image doesn't receive any comments. Summer is a short and busy time of year for everyone, and not all have that much spare time.

Have a great weekend,
Johnna

What a wonderful set of images to start the "No Host, Just Post..." challenge
and thank you Johnna for getting us started.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten out much over the last week or so, but I
thought I share some creations from some hibiscus I captured the other week.

It's been too hot in Idaho to go out on the streets and take pix, so I've been having some fun playing in the studio.

Pg 1 - Thom, both of these images are absolutely stunning.
Extremely well done.

Thank you Johnna for the start up of this final "No Host, Just Post..." can sympathize with the time element especially as we approach the end of the summer season...
This morning I applied an assignment I been trying to find time to work this entire week...Photograph within 100 meters of your front door...now for a cup of coffee to get the fog out of my head and clear up my eyes (it appears from these shots I need to...) and off to shoot some street shots at an arts festival and a new farmers market in a nearby small town....
Thank you Johnna for the start up of this final &q... (show quote)

Pg 1 - Awesome tour of Wapwallopen, PA, Vicki.

I really loved the in-camera abstract (#1) and the fog lifting
over the creek (Big Wapwallopen Creek, perhaps?)...and what
an awesome view from your front door!

Can you stand another sunrise? This is the only photo of our time at the lake that I have "handy". That would be my grandson out there watching the geese fly over.

Pg 2 - Gorgeous, Pat, absolutely gorgeous! I love the sunrise, the
geese, the lifting fog, the "feel" of the entire image!

Pg 3 - Life is always about setting priorities, whether you do it consciously or not...lol.
Since retiring seven years ago, my priorities have certainly changed, especially after
45 years in sales where priorities and goals were a constant.

I know Simon is going to love this series, Vicki, especially those images
of flowers that are slightly past their prime, but I'm putting my votes
in for numbers 3, 4 & 6!

Really like the color combination; the red & green compliment the lichen

I bought Merry a Nikon 8-15mm lens for her Birthday. I wanted to try it, so yesterday we dived on a local shipwreck. We had a ripping current and less than five feet of visibility, so I was not happy with the results. Hopefully, she'll let me use the lens again when conditions improve.

Thanks for the share into the underwater world! I can only imagine the additional obstructions to creating images in this area of photography; the green of the water with the coloring of the shipwreck in these captures are beautiful though; then the addition of the colorful fish made all these very appealing to me. I'm sure she'll share her lens in the future!
