Some have time limits between posts, but their program doesn't count very well. Thirty seconds can turn into an hour or more.
We don't have a minimum character limit. I don't have to type ten characters before pressing Enter.
I can post links without being warned that "This might be spam."
This site keeps running 24/7 without "technical problems."
It's easy to enter "smilies," and we have a good selection.
I could probably think of more examples, but you get the idea. UHH works as it should, and I'm sure we all appreciate that.

Hmm...
I think this calls for a celebration!
So, is this site Russian owned and operated?
That is why I signed. Seen others and they are too "facebooky".
Hey Jerry, how about some links on compact and/or point & shoot cameras with Viewfinders - either optical or electronic.
Also, new or used, in production or out, and age is not important; except, I want digital not film.
Thanks

In addition to the technical examples you give, there are a lot of examples of really decent people in really decent dialogues, making really decent use of this technically functional site, instead of running others down and inciting conflicts.
The people who spend a lot of time here making it a humanly decent site, make it better than having a technically functional but humanly disfunctional site.

That was what I found a couple of years ago. It was listed as off shore ownership etc.
They might have cleaned that up by now. I see other addresses but North Miami was an address
in a business park. Didn't want to start some trouble. Just wondered if anyone knew more here.
If we look at how our sites are being used in the US by foreign powers it would not be
paranoid to want to know.

This site is a cut above. The people make the site, not the owners.
And there is little tolerance for misanthropes.
It has a purpose and most stick to it.
Some wish to vent and spew, most want to share and learn.

I hope that all will give and learn. I hope this site works for ALL that use it.

My only negative is the rude, snarky comments which do not add anything positive to the otherwise helpful information presented. I wish everyone would follow the advice of Thumper's parents. "If can't say something nice......"
I wonder why that is. I spend time on two other forums, and there isn't even a hint of that kind of attitude.
I think many people have indicated their preference for more kindly and helpful contributions. It does appear some of the “snarky” res
ponses are a dwindling issue and quantity. This would seem to be a route to an even better forum.
