That is hysterical. By the way, dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

My dog, Bentley thinks he's human. He sleeps where ever he damn well feels like.

I think this is hilarious, but it raises the question for me of who created this. We can be mighty concerned as photographers when someone uses our photos without attribution or permission and I wonder if we should not be as concerned that we at least try to attribute the works of others when used here on the Hog. I am not taking the poster to task for not providing attribution in this case, because this is something I have thought of when enjoying previous posts as well. A work such as this one has required much more artistic talent than most of us possess and when possible I think we should consider giving credit where credit is due. What do others think?

This is why there are no cats in my house, and won’t be, ever. Cats are to live in the barn and catch mice.

Bill, your point is well taken, it was shared with me, and since there was no signature or copywrite indication, I have no idea who to attribute it to, but if I did, I would certainly do so. Btw, this is the entire cartoon as far as I know - I didn’t truncate or remove any signature, but I agree with you - as photographers, many of us who have had our work pirated without permission, we should be aware of reproducing another’s work without permission/attribution. If you feel strongly about the matter, I can ask adminto take it down. Frankly, it just didn’t occur to me as we’ve all seen amateur cartoons passed around at our work from time-to-time.

The only thing I could possible add is an additional, and very expensive, cat bed for the cat to completely ignore. Mine would rather rest in a shipping box than any of his many beds! Best of luck.

TriX -

Thanks for your thoughtful reply in support of my comment. No, I don't think you should take it down, as it is quite common for us all not to know the origins or creator of things we want to share. I just felt moved to make this point for all of us to consider, in the spirit of Do Unto Others....

As a former cat person I loved the cartoon.

So true. I used to have a Siamese that started laying to the side with his head on my shoulder. Creep up slowly until he was on my pillow and I was scrunched down with him laying full length on my pillow.

Then you are the one who will miss out. Eight years ago I was adapted by a pure black cat at the cat-pound. Now when I sit on the couch, she gets on my lap, rolls over on her back, and waits for me to rub her tummy.
