Hi I am new to the forum. I have been looking around and it looks like a great place. Photography is a great hobby. I am always looking to improve my skills. I also love to cook and read books. No E books for me. I
Welcome to the forum, Jill! What do you like to photograph? Have any questions? Many here have been photographers for years and are willing to give good advice...
Welcome. Lots of chafe mixed with the wheat but you will get some good kernels every now and then.
Welcome to the forum! I think you will like it here!
I live in Iowa in a river town. I love to photograph the river, and things on the river like barges, and bridges. I also like to do landscapes and the moon. At least I keep trying to shoot the moon. Sometimes my food when I create a new dish.
Thanks for the welcome.
I do have a question. I just got a new tripod with a ball head and I am having a hard time getting use to it. Is it best just to start a new topic for shis.
To everyone thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to UHH. I'm pretty new also. I proofread and copy edit for a number of authors so I always love hearing someone enjoys reading. This is a great forum for exploring and learning new things. What is your favorite dish to cook?
Welcome! This is definately one of the better forums. I also love books and am attempting to write one of my own. As far as your tripod question, practice. I have a manfrotto pistol grip which I like better than a ball head, in fact, I gave my ball head away.
Welcome to the forum Jill.
Thanks for the welcome.
I read nonfiction, biographies, memoirs and history. I do not have a favorite thing to cook I am always looking for new recipes to try.
My old one is a Manfrotto pistol grip. My new one is a Manfrotto ball head and I definitely need to practice. I was photographing a towboat yesterday and I could not get the thing to stay level.
Good luck on your book. What genre is it?
