I had run out of photo projects so I decided to do some work with the Nik Collection HDR Efex Pro 2. I reprocessed some old images from my Lightroom catalog and thought I rather liked what I saw. I know we frequently make negative comments about photos that are "overcooked". But what if overcooking is you goal. It's not for everyone to be sure but I thought it was fun to create images that look like they want to jump right off the wall. I doubt there is serious artistic merit in this work but your comments would be appreciated. Go easy on me, I'm only having fun.
#1 This is a street scene from Cartagena, Columbia. The original photo was pretty intense but the HDR sent it over the top.
#2 I called this one "Hollywood Alps". One or two days each year the skies of Los Angeles are super clear. This was one of those days. Canon 5D Mark II (since retired) with a 70-300 mm 20 year old lens.
#3 Hong Kong 2018 I think this is where a lot of the current protests are taking place. Camera was a Panasonic GX8 with a 12-60 mm lens.
#4 Windstar ship in the Adriatic 2017. This was a twilight shot approaching our cruise ship at Dubrovnik. I'm not posting the original but this is a significant improvement.
You are going to have to hit the download to get the intensity. Photos are out of order from the text.
I like the all. But particularly the Windstar. And the downloads do make a significant difference.

I like all of them. A nice change from the ordinary, and the Windstar is fabulous!
I like these as well. The Hong Kong photo looks great but there's something odd going on. The bicycle is casting a shadow on the blue and tan structure but there are no shadows anywhere else. Maybe the lighting was just like that. The Cartagena, Columbia photo is the only one that's a little overcooked.

Downloads really pop compared to the thumbnails...really nice processing IMO
Nicely done. I like the first and last best.
Interesting results. The Windstar is the winner IMO.

Great stuff and Windstar is the clear winner to me!! I'm not sure, but CO's thought on the bicycle shadow made me look closer and it appears to be painted onto the building! Thanks for sharing!

I downloaded the photo and zoomed in close. I see it now. The bicycle and shadow are painted on. What appears to be a window with the green frame is also painted.
