That is what I was thinking too. The DOJ needs to spend some time investigating Elijah Cummings and Maxine Waters. Maybe right after they do a real investigation of Hillary Clinton.

Ken Stern, what would you reasonably suggest that congress do to successfully eliminate the mass shooting which caused this latest focus of attention.

All the back ground "stuff" -- Then ban the sale of this weapons class as was done 10+ yrs ago -- If the Gun Manufactures find ways around this & Congress can't find ways of stopping it then as a last resort go for a full ban on all semiautomatic rifles -- Would allow congress to start collecting Info. they were not allowed to collect many years ago on gun issues -- Other then that we all get to keep our Bolt/Lever/Pump & single shot weapons -- Pretty much what 99% of what US weapons owners all had (including me & my Dad) way back when I was a kid -- Serious about taxing ammo

Follow-up
It's now night-night time in Cal. -- None of the above stuff is going stop a damn thing for quite a while ------BUT it's a 1st step toward reclaiming our real freedom which is to live our lives with a little "less" fear of these Pieces of Shit people

I’d pass a law that would make killing unlawful. That’ll take care of any way it’s done. Why pick on the tool. Blame the perp.

You are aware that the assault weapons ban is a myth.

How funny you blame this on semi automatic rifles when in fact semi auto rifles have been around for at least 100 years with no problems at all. That means back when you and your dad were having fun with your bolt, lever, pump and single shot weapons my brothers and I were having fun with M1 30 caliber carbines, M1 30 caliber Garands, numerous .22 semi automatic rifles and Remington Model 740 and Winchester Model 100 rifles in numerous calibers more powerful than the .223 of the AR and 7.62X39 semi automatic rifles of today.

How can you explain why none of these rifles we owned back then had no evil in their hearts (innards)? Could it be perhaps that it wasn't the rifles or other semi automatic firearms but the people/owners who used them. Why is it that ignorant people blame an inanimate object for causing death rather than blaming the person doing the shooting.

Strange how firearms have become evil over the years isn't it? Sounds like a good novel for Stephen King to write. Sort of like having an evil red Plymouth automobile. I bet he would sell millions of copies of a book covering an evil firearm. Serious how deranged on the Left Winger side does one have to be to blame a gun for the deaths of people rather than the shooter?

OMG!!! I have never heard of such a thing. Blaming murder not on the firearm (other weapons of death don't count) but on the one wielding the gun and doing the killing. WOW what a concept. I wonder if it will ever catch on.

Then get those Pieces of Shit people out of Congress and let Freedom rein for everyone.
Start teaching about personal responsibility again along with your rights end where the next person's begins.

You have the right not to own something that you are afraid of, but no right to take it from someone else for any reason. That is what our Constitution guarantees for each of us. I will not give that up so you or anyone else may feel good. If that does not work for you, then you are in the wrong country.

If you want to stop crime, go after the criminal. We have a 4th amendment that protects us from being treated like a criminal without cause.

The mother of a mass murder San Antonio called the local police with concerns over their sons gun purchases, especially the AR. Police said “no problem”. Weeks later, 22 dead people. How about enforcing current laws. Was there any evaluation done by police? If so, obviously not a good one.

It has been increasing since your youth. Maps directly with the growth of white conservative nationalism. Maybe we should go after more than one target.

Maybe there is a of lot truth in this picture. I can only speak for myself but if I knew I was going to be executed I think the thought of hanging, the electric chair, gas chamber or firing squad would be a lot more terrifying than lethal injection. While most people would fear being executed period, I think when we introduced lethal injection it removed a lot of fear but certainly not totally. Being put to sleep and not waking up sure seems to me a lot less traumatic than any of the other methods mentioned.

Let’s go after white people and after guns. Since there were multiple knife killings in California last night, let’s also go after knives. Start cutting your steak with a fork until someone sharpens his fork and stabs someone.

We should also go after cars, motorcycles, boats and airplanes and return to cave man tactics of throwing rocks and sticks. Next we go after those rocks that weigh over 2 ounces and sticks that are longer that six inches and weigh more than 3 ounces.

If a person kills or attacks another person, he should be immediately choked to death or smothered. We don’t need no stinking trial.

After all this, we must do away with matches. FIRES KILL.

I’m pretty certain that I left out some things that kill people.
