Yet you don't follow your own advice.

Complete nonsense, what's your point? I thought only the young and immature could be snowflakes, are you really an old timer? I guess it's possible, quite a few pinko commies in bread line Bernie's generation.

Of course this change in habit would burn up a few brain cells for most ‘old timers’ and goodness knows, brain cells are in short supply here on UHH.

And with such a rude presentation you have turned most off of you ideas on this subject. Really why IS this so important to you or others anyway?

I agree with you Chris in fact the sensor that is supposed to be full frame is not really a ff if we’re going by 35mm (36x24) standard a digital FF would be at least that size don’t you think oh well 1mm less big deal I guess who counting a hair here or there! Just my 2 cents....

Do you have any idea how difficult things are to read without punctuation marks it takes a few passes to figure where one thought stops and another begins without separating them which 1mm are you worrying about.

But most of us already know what to expect of focal lengths. That’s how lenses are designated. There’s no way you’re ever gonna see lens manufacturers designating lenses by AoV.

Even on a crop sensor!

Great discussion, I think. However, my takeaway is that any and all comments are valid and should be respected by the reader. I often do not post a question or a reply on this site for fear that someone out there will attempt to make me 'look' foolish or amateurish. This forum is an excellent source of information and it will only be successful in the future if it is a safe environment for expression.
The angry and hateful culprits that post rude and obnoxious comments should be censored. Perhaps they should be given a warning by 'management' and if not heeded, banned from the site for a period of time.
Just saying ........

I suggest ignoring the rude ones. It seems they have a need for attention and are totally involved with themselves, using the discussion as a tool for self-gratification. Publicly censoring them gives them the jolt they need. Most of us care about the topic. I think we just keep the discussion about the topic and let the immature punch it out.

Yes but it would obviate the need to flip the camera 90 deg for portrait...and no need for vertical grips or awkward contortions...it was a side note ... something bugging me since the moon landing Hassy's. Especially with today's high MP sensors we can crop with abandon.

I once owned an Oly E5 - it had a 3:4 aspect ration, which meant you could shoot portrait without rotating the camera. Nice feature
