Hi All on this past weekend I was in an area in northwest Wisconsin called Crex Meadows. A natural area of shallow lakes wetlands and prairies and it is filled with wildlife. while pondering a tall grass prairie I could here the big birds but they were hidden by the grass. Using a many year old trick while I was very young and in a farming community, when getting animals one would whistle through one teeth and may various sounds to call them. Well I did this with the cranes I could hear but not see. A couple blasts of faked songbirds, voila cranes popped above the grass in sympathy. making their croaking sound. Bingo I got a few shots as this. What fun, and please enjoy. I did try for as much Monet as I dared. Thanks for looking. RBorud

Thanks Jim, I agree both on having a good time, and discovering I could utter some semblance of a boyhood whistle, I impressed myself on the latter. RBorud
