Let me start with no I didn't serve.
Look a lot of Vietnam Era politicians dodged the draft so there is plenty of blame on both sides of the isle.
I do admire Vets especially in this order Vietnam then all the rest who fought on the wars there after.
Nam Vets maybe because of the disrespect the went through the ambiguity of the war.
I won't bash anyone who dodged Vietnam why; because honestly faced with those circumstances.
I may not have had the guts to go myself, and I haven't walked a miles in the shoes of those who served in combat an those chose not to.
With that being said I think the better marker for our current crop of draft dodging politicians would be how reluctant were they to get us into war.
Me personally I think out of all the presidents in recent history Trump might be the one who is and has been the most reluctant to get us into an unnecessary military action.

Certain MOS’s in the Navy require a six year commitment, example any nuclear program so why are you being a jerk about this? Once again you speak about something of which you know nothing.

Two years for conscripts like me. 'Lifer' meant much more than someone being a 'career man' or not. It was shorthand for all the born order takers, the gung ho that took to a regimented hierarchy like ducks to quacking. No thanks.

Your disrespect to the United States military is an abomination. You consider yourself superior to those who decided to make a career of the United States military when in fact you’re nothing but a POS.

I am certainly glad not everyone has your attitude otherwise we would all probably be speaking German or Japanese.

Your authoritarian tirade confirms my views of the military.
I fondly remember Sgt. Stit ("You don't like my army? Get the hell out!") telling me days before my discharge ... "You won't make it Tex! You'll be back!" Good times! I was actually I was sort of chummy with Stit.

Those of you who made a life long career out of the military are actually better off than the rest of us who didn't.
Two reasons I didn't go to the military one I fell in love and secondly, I liked to party.
My father told me if you don't think you can make it its best not to go in because a dishonorable
discharge would haunt you for life. I didn't want to party my way out.
I wasn't worried about boot as I was a young ex-jock. What made me strongly consider going
was a neighbor who lived up the street who was a Marine and he would tell me his Viet Nam stories.
He said you with your big ass they would have you playing football. I was honestly too heavy the cut off was 220 after playing football I got up to 255. I really loved those dress blues. Lol crazy right that's why I would have joined the dress blues, also not to mention they taught you how to fight martial arts they made you into a bad ass.

You compare existential threats to the nation to a S.E. Asia get rich quick scheme for munitions and infrastructure contractors? That explains a lot.
What branch was Obama in? What branch was Clinton in?

Draft dodging is only a big deal to supporters of DJT. You have to laugh, that's very funny.
Dodging Vietnam was the right thing to do. Where I come from if you wanted to get laid, you were anti-war.

I guess you get to pick your wars none of which you would participate in based on your disregard for the United States military. It's good that you got the hell out of our country and moved to Australia. I wonder if you would defend them if there was a clear and present danger, my guess not. It's obvious you Consider yourself to good to follow orders which means that you must have been the president of your company since the day you were born, kudos to you I'm surprised I've never seen you in Forbes magazine.

Funny to this day how draft dodgers have excuses for what the did instead of saying a truthful reply, "I'm a weenie and always will be chicken and still am".
