I actually posted my best picture so far of 2019 to start us off, but, It didn't take … so, after I did a reboot on Tuesday in the wee small - I off-loaded all the pics from the three cameras I took on my walk on Monday and started all over, again … some of them are pretty damned good, and more from that set will come, Bill.
Didn't take?
Problem solving hat on:
You have indicated you have problems getting onto sites like Microsoft Store, Canon (USA), and Digital Photography Review.
You have problems posting images on this forum.
You have indicated that you believe the problem to be with those sites (above).
I do not have any problems accessing those sites, or posting images to this forum.
Looking at accessinig the sites:
Maybe your ISP has problems connecting to those sites? Try another ISP (maybe from a library computer) and see what happens.
Maybe your internet connection is not good? Try a good PC on your dial up line.
Is your phone line "clean"? In other words have it tested by the phone comany for any technical problems.
Maybe you have a hardware problem with your PC that is connected to the internet? Try another PC.
Maybe you have a software problem with your web browser? Try another browser.
Maybe the problem is the user? Get somebody who knows what they are doing to investigate the problem.
Hope this helps solve your connection problems.

I like those.
Thank you. I hope they are more like photographs than snapshots.

Snapshots ARE photographs.

Exactly! Chris hijacked his own thread and threw it open to any images that don't meet his original criteria.
Since that's the case, how about three of the fourteen images I took this morning over the span of about 8 minutes while my wife was getting her nails done.
Those are actually quite nice. Shows that the eye of the photographer is still the most important bit of gear. Well done.

Unfortunately, what started as a fun idea seems to have switched directions. Which is a pity, since I thought there have been some wonderful images selected by some very talented UHH'ers.
In hopes of making it easier to enjoy the submissions that were clearly on topic with the original OP, I've loaded all the self-selected "best of 2019" into a dropbox folder. Here's the link:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/f3f3s8gfooo00d4/AAAIU71hkqWF4aTWRPkuNGNUa?dl=0 Chris T -- I'm not sure if you want your submission of the lion's head to be included, since it's not clear whether or not it meets your original challenge; but would be glad to add it or any other image that you deem your best of the year.
I hope this isn't considered hijacking the thread -- just trying to assemble a little online gallery for our collective pleasure.

So how can photographs be more like photographs than snapshots if snapshots are photographs?

Thanks very much! Makes looking at all the legitimate submissions much more enjoyable.
