Need help to ID this tree. Looks like some kind of pine. I have seen it in two different locations in MD. One in central MD near Jacksonville and the other near the bay in Havre de Grace. Can't find it in my books, Help. Tree is good sized at about 25' tall not a dwarf type oa a bush. Thanks.

Looks like Lanlandi - which in the uk is used as a hedging plant but will grow tall as a single tree. Crushed leaves have a resinous smell and the branches are very springy. Lots of people get an irritation when they come into contact with it.
possibly wrong and the spelling may be incorrect, but having cut lots this weekend....it do look like it.

Larch is an option.
Also possibly Cryptomera.
They are deciduous here in MD.
Other than that, ??? Where is a Dendrologist when you need one?

If you can HEAR it when you check its bark, it's a DOG.

It is NOT a larch. Perhaps a Dawn Redwood. It is a Gymnosperm but not a pine.
