I posted a portrait a couple of weeks back that I intended submitting to our club monthly contest but changed my mind after I created the one published here - and won! That will give me a small discount next time I book one of the club outings, which is nice, but the best bit was hearing a pro tell me he liked the image!
It's a simple composite but took quite a while due to cutting-out and moving chains. The blurry background was created with a Gaussian Blur, which I masked where I wanted the model's face to appear. Hope you like it but whatever your critique, it's welcome.
Excellent work and fascinating!
Disconcerting, but I can't look away. Strong story, Dave. Congrats on your win!
Very creative conceptualization and terrific execution. The weak link for me is the actual physics of her casual resistance to the forces implied by the massive weight.
I have no idea what I'm looking at ... but I am looking. Very interesting.
Thanks to everyone that’s taken a look and commented. It’s always appreciated. Away just now on another Steampunk shoot.
Compelling and disturbing - and aptly titled! Nice compositional work and I really like the blur treatment of the background to emphasize the block and chain weight - well thought out!
Nice creative artistic work that "tells a story" . .
Not difficult seeing why you won the contest - great work.
A very interesting and creative portrait. Good job!!
Hard to look away is an understatement! A strong story that rips the guts out of anyone who has known an addict. The impact of showing the model's face brings reality to the story. The processing of course is part of what brings the story to life and you have accomplished it superbly.
Excellent. You could have gone even further with the chains acting as restraints.
