I see the left side of her shirt has a lot of normal flags but the right side of the shirt and the sleeves have the flags inverted. I believe that is a distress signal.

I would guess the shirt is not made in the USA, but in some country where US flag etiquette is not known.

I assume the sewers did not know the nuances of flag etiquette or maritime signaling.

Same here, if the Union flag is flown upside down it is a sign of distress, or an insult to the monarch. Still a current offence on the U.K statute book punishable by a maximum sentence of 4 months. Incidentally it's only the Union Jack when flown from a Naval ship. To tell if it's hung correctly (not as simple as the Stars and Stripes) the broader white stripe should be uppermost adjacent the flagpole.

Maybe she’s not sure if she’s in trouble or not🤪

If US flag etiquette were known, there would not be clothing made to look like the flag.

Sorry to break the string of comments, but I like it--and her.

I like the intent of the shirt, but it is correct that an upside down flag is distress (and used by protests) and clothing with a flag is frowned on as etiquette.
Still like the intent

I believe it is not proper respect to use the Flag for clothing either!

It's not proper to use Our Flag as clothing.

Or did you mean the “Democrats” are in distress? 😋. Please don’t take me seriously, just thought it was funny to my warped sense of humor.

In he mid 60s, activist Abbie Hoffman (who was an organizational genius and viewed the government as a folly, a political theater and corrupt...turned out he was right!) was arrested and prosecuted for wearing the Flag as a shirt...made national news for a few days.

In the mid 2000s we had the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff wearing the same style shirt...at the head of a motorcycle parade (Rolling Thunder) on Memorial Day!

RIP Abbie!
