I have a Sony a6000 that I’m learning to love, but the one thing that bothers me is the recovery time after a shot. There’s a two- or three-second lag before it’s ready to go again, unlike my Canons that will re-fire immediately. Is this normal with a mirrorless camera, or am I missing something in the settings?
John, I am curious what you find out. On my a6400 I frequently have to tap the shutter release to clear the viewfinder of the preview of the just taken shot. I suspect it is just a setting but haven't figured it out yet.

Most camera brands allow for adjustment of the amount of time the shot just taken is previewed.....usually in some incremental arrangement like 2, 4, 8, 10 seconds, etc. On my Sony Alpha models it is selectable, same on my Nikons, Canon and Fuji's. On my Sony A37 it is called "Auto Review" on page 2 of the little gear symbol. Turning it off saves battery power and enables immediate second, third shot and would start to slow down as buffer is filled, like during burst, or string of multishot. Tapping the shutter works too, but an extra step.
Is the camera set to display the last image taken for 2-3 seconds?
I have mine set for something like five seconds , but if I tap the shutter release, the image goes away.

Hey, that did it! Thanks. I set “Auto Review” to the off setting, and all is well. Thanks again. Learned something again today.

There should also be a one shot vs multishot choice for firing a burst, whatever that is called in sony speak.

I haven't noticed that with my a6000, and I shoot raw. Maybe your memory card is too slow.

I have that turned off on all my cameras. I don't have to check because I know that all my shots are perfect.
Of course, just tapping the shutter button gets rid of the image. Turning off "Review" saves on battery usage, too.

Shooting RSW, good card. It’s the recovery time issue.

I have the same problem with my Sony a350. Every so often it locks up for several seconds before it will shoot again.
It makes me crazy. > Alan
