Witnessed an amazing sight last Sunday. A massive congregation of brown pelicans that dwarfed any group of pelicans I've ever seen before. I would estimate around 400. They just kept arriving, dozens after dozens after dozens. There must have been a school of fish. The word sure got out fast among the pelican community. A feeding frenzy! Not sure how rare this is, but I've certainly never seen anything like it with pelicans. An awe-inspiring phenomenon. I didn't have my camera with me, so there are just iPhone shots. But I think they convey the sense of wonder that all of us who witnessed this felt.
