There's been some discussion about some of the new editors and how they compare so I decided to put some of them to a "quick and dirty" test by using the default settings "auto enhance" part in a side-by-side with the original SOOC jpg from my Sony a6500 and kit 55-210 lens and Sony Clear Image Zoom (CIZ). The files wouldn't load full size so I have resampled them to half size, 3000x2000px, 96rez...

I am not impressed by any of these result samples. Color and contrast shifts are all over...

Yes, I downloaded all of them, used the browser magnifier on the top right corner to have the portion of the image.

I too was not overwhelmed by any of these. I worked with a copy of the SOOC image and with traditional steps in Photoshop, I was able to get far better results in just a couple of mins.

Not a relevant test for me because I never use "auto enhance". I'm more interested in the capability to custom process images. But then I've been using Photoshop since the first version.

Of course, I didn't put these on here to impress anyone but rather to show unsuspecting people looking for a inexpensive way out what they were going to get if they just arbitrarily pick on and go with it thinking they had a turnkey solution.

It's only relevant as long as none of them live up to the hype or if an inexperienced person thinks they can solve all their post processing needs with the default settings in one of these programs and that's what a lot of people would like to have for $35.00, a low cost alternative to Adobe's subscription that will do all their post processing with a one button punch.
