Check with Olympus, Amazon, B&H, KEH, Cameta, or search on Google.

I think the OMD-EM10mk3 uses the same connector as the OMD-EM1mk2. It is the same as a Canon E3 connector which is a 2.5 mm stereo plug. Any remote that works with a Canon E3 should work with the 2 new Olympus cameras. Here is a thread about the connector on the OMD-EM1mk2:

I am puzzled - what is a Canon E3? Do you mean Oly E3?

E3 is the "name" of the connector that Canon uses. It is 2.5mm in diameter and has 3 contacts-2 on the shaft and the tip. The third party manufacturers use the term to describe compatible connectors.

It does not. They have changed the ports on the MarkIII. This is why it is so difficult to find a cable that works on the MarkIII.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve scoured Amazon pretty thoroughly and the ones I’ve seen fit the OM-D EM10 Mkii, not the Markiii. Apparently they have changed the ports on the camera.

I di have that Olympus app on my iPhone and have paired it with the camera. Just not sure how that works if I am not in a space with wifi.

Can the Olympus be setup as a local hot spot so your phone can see it?

Try testing the WiFi in a location with no other WiFi around. I've been looking at this Olympus and ny reading says the connection is just between the cam and cell phone. Read the manual and test.

The cam is also capable of geo-tagging photos, reading gps info from your phone. They must be synched fir this to work.

As long as batteries are charged AND you are using a compatible phone, you should be able to trust them.

Good luck.

JB. That is exactly correct. The camera and phone are connected via their own little WiFi rather than Bluetooth. Kind of odd. It works well but is a real battery drain.
