Well, since I am a Canon user, and for my 80D I use the 10-18 & 15-85.

Here is the scenario:
1. You are an advanced amateur photographer; some may call you an enthusiast.
2. You frequently take cruises to the Med, Asia, Europe, and South America.
3. You enjoy taking street and travel photos, and sometimes long shots from the cruise ship as it arrives/departs ports.
4. When on "shore excursions", you enjoy being in the cities and restaurants, but not hiking or nature walks or kayaking. Lots of photos inside churches, museums, restaurants, and popular spots in the urbam scene, with an almost even mix of day and night.
5. You don't like rain, hate snow, and prefer temperatures above 50°F.
6. You have a Panasonic GX-9 micro 4/3 camera, a flash that can be used on or off (wifi or bluetooth) camera (GN 127) and a bunch of lenses (see below).
7. You will not have a tripod, but your camera has internal stabilization, as do some of your lenses.

7. THE CHALLENGE:
RANK ALL lenses, In priority order by letter, your choice of lenses to take on your next Mediterranean cruise.
You must choose ONLY from the list, using only the letters, without further comment.
Focal lengths are ALL listed in 35mm equivalent format in order to eliminate confusion. (2x crop factor, etc.)

LENSES:
A. Pany 24mm f1.4
B. Pany 14-28mm f4
C. Pany 24-70mm f2.8
D. Oly 120mm f2.8 macro
E. Pany 85mm f1.2
F. Pany 70-200mm f2.8
G. Pany 200-600mm f3.5-5.6

Your letter ranking should be based on the usefullness for the scenario given, without considering weight or size. You will be taking few, if any, portrait or landscape shots; you will be takimg some food shots in restaurants.

ANSWER EXAMPLE:
C
A
B
F
D
E
G

Can't wait to see the responses to this, especially from those who have lived thru a similar scenario.!!
Thanks for stepping up to the challenge!

Sorry. I am a seasoned professional and only take my Sony HX99V with it's Zeiss 24- 750 mm lens with pop up viewfinder and auto fill flash. I need nothing else and get tack sharp 20X30 prints. I am hands free thanks to my belt pouch. My wife appreciates the fact I can hold her hand and not suffer shoulder pain or bothered by unnecessary equipment.

C - only lens you really need
F - would be helpful for the occasional long shot
B - would not take this or any of the following but you asked so here you go.

Thank you for the FIRST COMPLETE REPLY to my question. I really appreciate it.

YOU WIN THE CHALLENGE!!!

Hard to believe we have 3 pages of answers and only 1 answer (yours) that was complete, though in all fairness, a few came close.

This will be our 4th cruise, and the 3rd Med cruise. We usually took a bridge camera and a couple cell phones.

This time, it will be the Panasonic Lumix GX-9 (an incredible M43 camera), the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 for most shots, and the Pany 7-14mm f4 for the interiors of buildings, narrow streets/alleys.

Am seriously considering the Oly 60mm f2.8 macro to get just a biit more reach than the 12-35mm has to offer, especially as the ship arrives/departs each port, and to take shots of museum artifacts with detail.

While the Pany Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2 is an incredible lens, it is heavy, expensive, and better suited for portraits and short tele night work.

The Pany 100-300mm f3.5-5.6 is too big, too heavy, and not useful on a cruise. I use it primarily for static surveillance work as a PI.

Didn't want to influence the answers by stating this up front, as I wanted original opinions.

Also wanted input on the usefullness of the Pany 35-100mm f2.8. That seems to be a mixed bag.

Thanks again.

Apparently you changed the rules somewhere.

"RANK ALL lenses, In priority order by letter, your choice of lenses to take on your next Mediterranean cruise.
You must choose ONLY from the list, using only the letters, without further comment."

Didn't say ALL had to be chosen, It did say rank your choices and without further comment. Listing a few is akin to not using the ones not listed, since "without further comment" was stated.

But it was your exercise and rules.

B,F,C,A,D,E,G. This is actually a fun exercise. Thanks for giving us a challenge for a real life scenario. Given the travel possibilities, however, it looks as though there is a lot of unnecessary redundancy in the fixed focal length lenses, adding weight and bulk which would be a hassle, especially for international travel. In any case, I would limit myself to 3 lenses at the most.
