Thank you again everyone for your comments. Really not looking for a pat on the back, although greatly appreciated. Just wanted to bring attention to some of the living conditions on these Native American Reservations. As far as raising a big family, family is important to them and many live in family camps as does this family, so they do have support from other members of the camp. There are about 6 families in this family camp.
I understand the concept of families. What support from the other 6 families in the stated family camp did they have in their living conditions? That support came from a bunch of guys from Pennsylvania. That level of sharing gave both parties great joy. Given the economic hardship, how can they afford to raise all these children?
I think the greater level of attention should be focused on educating the children so they can have the choice to continue their lives there or improve upon their life situation. Otherwise, there will be no change. Those six children multiplied by how many others will, in turn, have children that cannot be supported by themselves or within any group environment. Personal responsibility and education have to be the direction otherwise your children and grandchildren will be in your shoes for the unforeseeable future.
