Portraits of Lauren II

OK, here I have HEAVILY processed these to remove the shine as much as possible. I'm not sure that they are better...

I certainly agree that larger light sources (which cast softer shadows) are to be preferred. Sadly I do not have such equipment. However, next time I will fire the flashes through white umbrellas instead of inside of aluminized ones. Now if only Lauren would only pass through Boston again!

Don't fret too much, you did well with what you had. They are great images she and you should be proud of. A few more things to add to the GAS list.

Yes sir, soft lighting is best for women and surely using umbrellas without the aluminum foil should give you more pleasant portraits.

These are well exposed and well posed portraits. You did a great job. The third and the last one are outstanding.

I do like shot #2. The perspective is very good and your post work looks nice.

I remember seeing a photo shoot where all the photographers brought their personal gear and cameras and shot the same model at the same distance. In the end the winner was the guy with the 7' Octa and one strobe! LOL The other guys kept saying it was unfair as they couldn't compare their multiple lights to his one light source. It's that with such a giant Octa he was able to wrap the light all around her so softly that his shots were perfect, and only one light and a reflector. It was pretty cool to watch.

For those of you lucky enough to live in the LA area, I've learned that Lauren Leola is now based there. Anyone looking for a beautiful and accomplished model could not do better. She's easy to find on the web if you're interested.

Lauren has a very good sense of modeling. She's seducing the lens with her eyes and it shows. Beautiful subject and great photography

DH, you have greatly improved them in my opinion. I do have a question. Are her pupils larger than normal? I have had success reducing pupils in Portrait Pro when my subjects show too large. Very good shots of a great model...
