What makes them angry is realizing that all of their efforts and sacrifice have brought us the current crop of socialist leaning youth intent on throwing away the unlimited opportunity that this country represents. It has brought us to a government that feels it has the right to tell us how much sugar we can consume or how we should exercise and when. Of course all "angry old white men" are conservatives. If you read the entire article about the miners you will find the quote from the mine owner saying that he did not pay the men because of a federal law that forbids paying workers to attend a political event: A law that the Democrats and Unions have no problem violating. The statement - “Attendance was mandatory but no one was forced to attend the event.”, is common in business, although not usually stated in exactly that way. It simply means that we want you to attend but if you don’t there will be no punishment. Not all of the miners attended and there are no reports that anyone was punished for not attending.

The men that fought in that war were young men just like those who are fighting in wars today. The military was segregated and if you were not white you knew place. That is bigotry. Now, the world has progressed as new young people have changed it to a very different place than it was 70 YEARS AGO. We can go back 50 years and find the segregation in society and the bigotry. Now the survivors of that age long for those days. These are the angry old men to whom I refer. Their world is gone...as it should be just as my world that I knew 40 years ago is gone.

Society experiences progress only when men with fixed thoughts die and are replaced by new thinkers. That's something you just have to over, old man.

I chose bigotry because it applies perfectly to attitudes of angry white men especially after you decided to post its definition. These people are threatened by everything around them, immigration, gays and lesbians, women working. As stated previously, they want things to be they were when they were in control of their women and other folks "knew their place".

John Adams, Patrick Henry, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were radical, anti-government intellectuals...the hippies of their day that developed the most radical form of self-rule the world had seen to date. These non-conformists were against every establishment of the old world including religious and political oppression.

Angry white men of today are frightened bigots who long for the day when they controlled their women and other folks "knew their place".

Employees of a major coal industry donor to Republican causes have raised complaints about their participation in an event earlier this month organized for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney in the crucial swing state of Ohio.

Several miners at Murray Energy’s Century coal mine in Beallsville, Ohio, contacted a nearby morning talk radio host, David Blomquist, over the last two weeks to say that they were forced to attend an Aug. 14 rally for Romney at the mine. Murray closed the mine the day of the rally, saying it was necessary for security and safety, then docked miners the day's pay. Asked by WWVA radio’s Blomquist about the allegations on Monday’s show, Murray chief operating officer Robert Moore said: “Attendance was mandatory but no one was forced to attend the event.”
