Some may look upon this as a simple beaded coin purse and hankie and really that is all they are except...these items have been past down through the times...husband's grandmother presented these two items, something new & something blue, to her youngest daughter on her wedding day (the needlework on the hankie was done by her), on my wedding day my mother-in-law presented it to me, something old & something blue and on my daughter's wedding day I presented it to her as something old and something blue...the tradition so far has been that the first to marry receives it...my daughter during the reception asked me to come forward and she shared the history with all the guests and then turned to me and said "I'd like to make a change to this tradition by adding "something new" by this being something borrowed," and handed it back to me with this short speech..."Bobci (spelled wrong probably-Polish for Grandmother) didn't see Gram pass this to you and Gram didn't see you continue the tradition...but now you have no choice but to be around to see the tradition live on" Her belief is that by returning it for me to give to the next in line...I will be here to give it...so here is a little treasure of mine...
