Have thrown most of my past away and what is left is in storage. Might take some digging but will be back HwG

Past or present...all the same...as you will see even the simple every day item can become a treasure...especially in your hands...

The best treasures...memories and traditions...
Now what adventures are down around that bend....
Thank you for sharing such a peaceful look into your world...

Easy to miss these walking along a beach. A little footprint and snails hiding in the cleft of a rock.

Took it to a luthier and had it overhauled some years ago.....It's now with our youngest son, Jonathan.

He's the most musicial of our kids....and lives in Ca.

pg2 Is that a "tin"? Looks like the rear legs are jointed....beautiful treasure!

I guess that's what it is...it is made of tin. The base would roll across the floor while the horse would buck, rear legs extending. The cowboy would fly up off the saddle some, hands remaining attached to the reigns.

It currently doesn't work...it's been on my list for quite a while now.

Some may look upon this as a simple beaded coin purse and hankie and really that is all they are except...these items have been past down through the times...husband's grandmother presented these two items, something new & something blue, to her youngest daughter on her wedding day (the needlework on the hankie was done by her), on my wedding day my mother-in-law presented it to me, something old & something blue and on my daughter's wedding day I presented it to her as something old and something blue...the tradition so far has been that the first to marry receives it...my daughter during the reception asked me to come forward and she shared the history with all the guests and then turned to me and said "I'd like to make a change to this tradition by adding "something new" by this being something borrowed," and handed it back to me with this short speech..."Bobci (spelled wrong probably-Polish for Grandmother) didn't see Gram pass this to you and Gram didn't see you continue the tradition...but now you have no choice but to be around to see the tradition live on" Her belief is that by returning it for me to give to the next in line...I will be here to give it...so here is a little treasure of mine...

simple little traditions...treasures of memories

We think alike...originally born & raised in Phila, after first was born I moved about 1.5 hours northwest to live outside a small town (holds the world record for more people buried in the cemetery than actually live in the town) on a backroad in the woods...have on one occasion had no choice but to move into a small city (hated it!)...give me the bumpy roads, the twists and turns and yes the muddy puddles any day...

pg4 The wonderful things we keep from our childhood...see you had a creative eye from a young age; love what you did with #3 & 4. #2 might make a nice small print to hang in a kitchen.

Thanks Vicki glad you enjoyed.

There is a tradition among timber frame builders, that each of the dozens of volunteers sign their work. These are just a few of the many who signed our barn. After the frame is complete and the siding is soon to be applied the signatures are made never to be seen again. So these signatures are truly hidden treasures
