I do not own a gun and have no desire to. My father, my father-in-law, and many of my friends own hunting rifles. I even went deer hunting with them, although my weapon of choice was a camera and a zoom lens. So I am not against people owning firearms. What I can’t get my head around is how many Americans truly believe they NEED a weapon for protection. I was at a US Walmart some time ago and saw two guys enter the store with holsters and handguns in clear view. I guess they wanted be sure they got the last roll of toilet paper that was on sale.

My real point is that fewer firearms issued under stricter and more sensible laws is the right direction. Does it not tell you something when you are the only country in the free world that still thinks like the cowboys of 150 years ago?
Thanks for the lesson. I am by no means a biblical... (show quote)

When I first started training horses, my father said, “Son, never get off a winning horse.” There was wisdom in his words and that wisdom covered more than horses.

You forgot to mention that we are still the most powerful and, judging from our legal and illegal immigration, the most desired country in the world.

And you would say that, having absolutely no idea of what the hell is really going on. You make claims with no proof yet you are happy because other ignorant Liberals chuckle at your ineptitude.

When I write it is from past experience with real people. Your writing, calling Trump, Bigly, and so on holds absolutely nothing of value for most here including the Left. You speak in riddles trying to show some Liberal half truths but in reality you have nothing.

Tell us what the Democratic Party offers Americans today. What have they done to combat illegal aliens. Remember the key word is illegal. That means those people are not supposed to be here in America. Yet the Democrats literally not only invite them in but offer them incredible freebies once they get here. Where is their and your support of the rule of law? Apparently the law means nothing to you or them.

Pelosi says nobody is above the law yet she ignores every Democrat who has broken the law. Apparently she believes that Democrats ARE above the law.

I have mentioned these things numerous times in the past yet you and other Liberals just ignore them or wish them away. No answers as to why Democrats can't obey the law. No answers as to why Democrats cannot agree to work with President Trump. After all, Republicans did not like President Obama yet they still worked with him. Why is it that Democrats cannot simply do the job they are being paid to do?

I will be right here,

Dennis

You guys and your second amendment are a joke.

First of all, to believe it is your god-given right to bear arms (something many gunslingers like to claim) is foolhardy; the right is given by the second amendment, and God had nothing to do with it... other than to say in #5, "Thou shalt not kill."

Second, it is an "amendment"... get it? An "Amendment" to the Constitution. That means it is not carved in stone and can be amended yet again... to something sensible.

Third, sometimes one has to take options to extremes to understand the impact of a decision. Pro-NRA folks like to argue that more guns make things safer because they allow you to defend yourself against an armed idiot. In other words, if everyone packed a sidearm (like in the wild wild west) there would be fewer "gun fights" and killings (like in the wild wild west). Yeah, right!!! Anti-gun folks would argue that if ALL guns were illegal then there would not be weapons available to kill people (and my point is on guns, not knives or baseball bats or cars, or whatever else... guns). This is also not realistically achievable, but to me it seems to be more in the right direction.

Now, the bad bozos will always have access to guns, but if there were fewer of them produced and if it were harder to get them, then there would be fewer weapons in the hands of thieves, maniacs, etc.

So other than creating the situation of a standoff where EVERYONE pulls out their weapon and aims it at EVERYONE else (y'know, like in the good guys/bad guys movies), please explain how more guns make your country safer.
You guys and your second amendment are a joke. br... (show quote)

Typical fascist progressive argument....create a false strawman and then base your comments on your own comments!

First, Few, if anyone, has harped about guns being a God given right.

Second, the fascist progressive movement does not want to go the route of amendments, they want to just take them either through a stacked judiciary or through force.

All of the teachers I know pay for various supplies out of their own pocket because the school doesn't have enough money.

Not a debate.

I believe what they tell me.

Chris I completely agree with your statement of teachers paying for much out of their own pocket. Both my parents and ex wife did exactly that, paid for hundreds of things for student use out of their own pocket with no remuneration from the school district. I think most teachers do that if they love their job and want the best for the children.

But saying you believe what they tell you I don't know if you mean you believe teachers pay for things out of their own pockets, which I believe too, OR you believe whatever teachers tell you.

There was a time, when I went to school, that I believed everything my teachers told me because they told me things that were facts, known to everyone, the world was round, Columbus discovered the new world, America and allies won the world wars, Washington was the first President and so on. These things are still true. But these days some teachers are using their position of authority over children to make political statements that are not only not true but are pushing the Liberal narrative down the throats of students. One of these things is when teachers and school districts try to give students a narrative of Muslims being wonderful while having the kids visit mosques, dress as Muslims, pray as Muslims and so on. Do you agree with this? Do you think it appropriate? Why aren't students being taught about ALL religions including Catholic, Methodist, Hindu, Buddhist and so on? Why just Muslim? Do you not see this as indoctrination rather than education?

You do what you want in our country and we will follow our constitutional rights. Who do you think you are telling us what we need? We are the only country in the free world that every other nation wants to come to BECAUSE OF OUR FREEDOMS. When somebody invades your house at 2 in the morning, celebrate not having a gun, buffoon. In case you don't know, it is not necessary for you to wrap your little head around anything we do as citizens of the US. Worry about your own country.

Old "Blind 'em with the latest nomenclature" Dennis. No one cares.

It isn't that no one cares. It is that in the Liberal world, your world, nobody takes the time to see there are differences. You are all too quick to judge everything the same when you really don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. You are trying to build on your fake Liberal agenda. Guns are bad so gun owners must be bad, all gun owners must belong to the NRA which supports the 2nd Amendment so the NRA is bad also. you Liberals tell us the NRA is only wanting to sell guns but in fact the NRA sells nothing of the sort. It does not sell guns. It sells the idea of Freedom, something that you Liberals are only too happy to allow to be taken away.

You say all of this while probably not realizing that while you were typing there was a mass shooting in Canada. You know, the Canada with strict gun laws that will keep everyone safe. Check the news in Toronto. You might be surprised at how easily a mass shooting can occur right in your own back yard. Now what??? Will you Canadians ban every single firearm for the actions of a couple of people. That's it, right, blame everyone for the actions of one or two people.

Funny... this was about gun laws, not my or YOUR leader. A bit touchy, are we?

And for the record YET AGAIN, you guys make it my — and other nations’ — business is because you stick your noses (or other body parts) into everyone else’s business.

But should you desire a segue, the real reason you guys get so annoyed by criticism, be it about archaic gun laws or orange buffoons, is because deep down you know you are wrong.

Let me see here, you write a bunch of crap about America and then say we are putting our noses in YOUR business. Perhaps you should start over with your lips sewn together. You would make more sense that way.

Why would an ignorant liberal Canadian think his opinion has value in the US? Clean up his own mess in Canada before shooting of his mouth.
