I remember using them 60 years ago. I do not recommend them. My tour guide took me to places which were really hot.

Now that the war's been over for quite some time, I wonder what the V.C. felt when they heard those choppers. Any feedback from V.C. survivors?

This one is not funny. As I am sure you know too many died in those things

I flew one of those things and you can choose today to live in the light or in the dark. I choose the light.

I flew on one as an artillery forward observer but not in a combat situation. Regardless of the situation dark humor is a way of life in the military...probably a coping mechanism. If you want to read a good book about flying Hueys in Viet Nam, try "Chickenhawk" by Robert Mason who flew one there. Plenty of dark humor in the book, but it probably helped keep them sane since what they were forced to do, was totally insane. (ie one insanity definition bring, "doing the same thing over and over in the same situation but expecting different results")

Chicken Hawk is a great book, but I have always wondered what happened to the author?

The dark humor did not help to keep us sane but did help prevent insanity. Welcome home Brothers.
