So?

As others have pointed out, it’s just another example of bad to mediocre parenting as THEY s/b ensuring their own kids have the basics.

Seriously....how much does a pencil and chalk cost?

The do understand the concept of VOLUNTARY down under don't they? Volunteer, be trained and stop making schools zones where shooters know that no one is going to shoot back.

We don't have that problem.

Does your brain engage? So, the shooter is in the cafeteria with a semi automatic, a hand gun, what ever it is. There are also 2 armed teachers in the cafeteria.

They draw their gun and fire. IT ONLY TAKES ONE BULLET TO TAKE HIM DOWN. What is it that prevents you liberals from thinking?

lol! What could go wrong? The first teacher/school district that shoots a kid will be crucified. Top up your insurance.

You guys and your second amendment are a joke.

First of all, to believe it is your god-given right to bear arms (something many gunslingers like to claim) is foolhardy; the right is given by the second amendment, and God had nothing to do with it... other than to say in #5, "Thou shalt not kill."

Second, it is an "amendment"... get it? An "Amendment" to the Constitution. That means it is not carved in stone and can be amended yet again... to something sensible.

Third, sometimes one has to take options to extremes to understand the impact of a decision. Pro-NRA folks like to argue that more guns make things safer because they allow you to defend yourself against an armed idiot. In other words, if everyone packed a sidearm (like in the wild wild west) there would be fewer "gun fights" and killings (like in the wild wild west). Yeah, right!!! Anti-gun folks would argue that if ALL guns were illegal then there would not be weapons available to kill people (and my point is on guns, not knives or baseball bats or cars, or whatever else... guns). This is also not realistically achievable, but to me it seems to be more in the right direction.

Now, the bad bozos will always have access to guns, but if there were fewer of them produced and if it were harder to get them, then there would be fewer weapons in the hands of thieves, maniacs, etc.

So other than creating the situation of a standoff where EVERYONE pulls out their weapon and aims it at EVERYONE else (y'know, like in the good guys/bad guys movies), please explain how more guns make your country safer.
You guys and your second amendment are a joke. br... (show quote)

We all have a god given right to defend ourselves and our families. A firearm is the great equalizer-- old, young, strong, or frail, they are all equal when they can launch lead.

And you are right, the 2nd is an amendment, but where you're completely confused is, the first ten Amendments are THE BILL of RIGHTS.

Funny... this was about gun laws, not my or YOUR leader. A bit touchy, are we?

And for the record YET AGAIN, you guys make it my — and other nations’ — business is because you stick your noses (or other body parts) into everyone else’s business.

But should you desire a segue, the real reason you guys get so annoyed by criticism, be it about archaic gun laws or orange buffoons, is because deep down you know you are wrong.

You seem to be a Biblical scholar quoting the 5th commandment. Certainly quoting the 5th commandment is indication of your knowledge the 5th commandment. You must know that before 1611 the Bible was only published in Yiddish. King James ordered the translation into English. The translators did however make a few translation mistakes.

If you look up the Yiddish word for “kill” in Strong’s Concordance, you will notice that the word should have been translated as “murder” instead of “kill”.

Herein lies the problem. Murder is the unlawful taking of a life. Therefore, a person who takes the life of one trying to murder others has broken no civil or Biblical law.

Nice try! I am guessing you were talking about the 6th.

Thanks for the lesson. I am by no means a biblical scholar, so I looked things up. It appears that the numbering system as well as wording (translation) is not consistent.

I do not own a gun and have no desire to. My father, my father-in-law, and many of my friends own hunting rifles. I even went deer hunting with them, although my weapon of choice was a camera and a zoom lens. So I am not against people owning firearms. What I can’t get my head around is how many Americans truly believe they NEED a weapon for protection. I was at a US Walmart some time ago and saw two guys enter the store with holsters and handguns in clear view. I guess they wanted be sure they got the last roll of toilet paper that was on sale.

My real point is that fewer firearms issued under stricter and more sensible laws is the right direction. Does it not tell you something when you are the only country in the free world that still thinks like the cowboys of 150 years ago?

Liberals from other countries are a freaking joke because they think their liberal opinions matter to us. They don't. Your country has plenty of problems, insert you extra large nose into those problems.

Oh, but big mouth Canadians think they know everything and want to ram their liberalism down everyones throat. Keep that lunacy in Canada.

John, you are a typical flaming liberal. Shoot your mouth off with no facts and you don't even have a say in what goes on, but your liberalism just oozes out of every pore and you think you have to tell everyone how to live. That is the liberal disease, try and boss everyone around. Keep your big nose in Canada and we will worry about the US.

You are full of it. The US does not make anything YOUR business, you are just a nosy, overbearing liberal who has apparently given up on taking care of your own country. Fix your country first Einstein.
