Just to the right of where the shooter tried to gain entrance, and where the photographer hid, there used to be (and still may be) a bus stop where I used to catch a bus from downtown to the house. Not far from there is El Centro Community College, the center of the shooting a few years ago when four Dallas police officers and a transit officer were ambushed. My son attended school there.
I used to work in the Municipal Building further up Main Street earlier in the 70's. Attached to that building is another City building which used to house the jail where Lee Harvey Oswald was jailed and killed in the garage. I used to walk past the auto entrance to the garage where all of that occurred.
is this supposed to have a photo?

I'm assuming many on Chit-Chat watched the news tonight.
Your post was the first I heard of this. Thanks for posting so I could do some research and find out what happened. Fortunately, one of the responding officers exercised what I consider good "gun control". Kudos to the photographer who captured photos of this occurring.

This court house is very well protected. Always has been.
Steve, most of the ones I've been by have been very well protected, as well. I can't blame them for emphasizing safety.

Bob....The latest from the family is that they think he was trying to commit suicide by cop. The "armor" he was wearing was fake. He went right into an area that was heavily defended. When he couldn't get into the courthouse, he ran, drawing fire, rather than giving up. He didn't shoot anybody outside the courthouse, which at that time of day would have been very busy.
