I don't see the EXIF data Jim so I don't know if you just had tremendous DOF or these are focus stacks. Great landscapes. Beautiful work.

Great work! Any Filters used ?

Thanks, tct. Not altogether sure which way you mean filters, though. If in the sense of had I used a CPL or an ND or some other type of lens attachment filter, then no. Alternately, if in the sense of had I used one or more post-processing 'filters' --i.e., either stand-alones or PS-type plug-ins of one or another sorts-- then likewise, no, no such filters were used while processing any of the initial post images. The 'add-on' final image --the 'painting-like' image-- on the other hand was clearly made with the use of a handful of such 'filters' and by-hand digital manipulations in PS.

Reminds me of Korea when I was stationed there for 15 months. 200 miles south of Seoul on the Yellow Sea coast, and we had one tree within 20 miles of our anti aircraft missile site.

Thanks, Spidey. I generally un-include EXIF data since if anyone were to look at it, what they'd see would be either uninformative or downright misleading. Uninformative in the sense that I often use non-proprietary lenses (on either of my Fuji bodies --which these were shot with), so apart from camera data, lens-wise all anybody'd see would be "f/0". And misleading in the sense that often enough, how I meter and ultimately expose a scene or subject might bear little resemblance to how I expect to process that resulting image, and would appear either counter-intuitive or just plain confusing to anybody who looked at EXIF data.

Most of the DOF depth in these is due to having used a 12mm Rokinon on some, and a deeply stopped down Leitz Summitar on others. None of these images were focus stacked, despite the fact that I'd have liked to have that as an option. There was far too much wind to attempt stacking in a constantly moving environment.

Sounds like a real sweet place, AirW. Reminds me of being stationed in, and subsequently living for a time, in Oklahoma. Granted, there were two or three more trees in or around towns or the odd river or creek or whatever, but away from those, the few trees that grew out on the plains all grew pointing south because of the constant and steady wind. It was handy, in its own way, though. Made needing a compass to know which way was what completely unnecessary. If you could find a tree.

It wasn't only the single tree that we had. For entertainment we had an NCO club in a motor pool tent for entertainment and some local ladies if you leaned that way. That is the place I got interested in photography. I went to our little px one day to get a few things and low and behold, there in the case was a brand new Pentax and A Canonet rangefinder. Bought the Canonet and spent most of my free time walking around the countryside getting many boxes of slides with kodachrome 64. Had a lot of fun doing that, and then one time when we moved all my slides came up missing. That little Canonet with kodachrome 64 produced some beautiful slides. Wish they never came up missing. Still have the Canonet!
