You're right - a structural engineer would find this interesting. I think the trouble is they're a very small minority. Maybe it would look more technical or arty in B&W.

I'm sure to an engineer, this would be very interesting. I actually have a friend who is a steel engineer, and I'd like to show this to her. I'm afraid that to a photographer - at least to this one - there is little of interest. The lines and their crossing would be of interest to some. When I enlarged the image and could see the designs in the red steel, that was sort of interesting. Perhaps a macro of that would be of more photographic interest. Unfortunately, the background we can see through the steel is sort of distracting. I realize there's probably no way to get rid of it or avoid it, so it's something to put up with.

R.G. & AzPicLady. I agree that it's not that interesting pictorially I posed it because it's different than most photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, I find myself trying to imagine the forces that each member is carrying Is it in tension or compression, large or small forces, or just stabilizing a long skinny member from buckling under compression.

Please be aware that I'm not structural engineer but just have a lively curiosity.

As an Engineering Geologist, I too am interested in the structure. But I have to agree that all the 'splaining to the general public would not be worth the effort. Photographically, I think that the bridge needs to be really sharp if that structure is the point, so run through "dehaze" at least. The background on the right is totally white (maybe emphasizing the geometries?) but most of the detail on the left is lost. I like R.G.'s suggestion to look at it in B&W, and maybe dodge in some of that lost detail.

If the detail in the steel was sharper it would be better. I definitely would do it in b&w. It is extremely easy to select structures like this using select similar in Photoshop. You could select the structure, mask out the background and drop in a dramatic sky or anything else that you think might add to the steely theme.
