So ends the covered bridge series.....for a while at least.
Looks like the walking bridge may have been built on an old railroad trestle support.
Excellent set.
Loved the first and second.
I have enjoyed this series very much!

I think you're right about the train trestle. In fact, the bridge and all the property that surrounds it has a strange history. Fifteen years ago the whole place was one huge garbage dump with an abandoned pub/hotel and a fallen down farm house. About ten years ago someone (no one seems to know who did it) put buko bucks into the place. They cleaned it up, landscaped the stream (Indian Run), built the bridge, cleared a hiking trail and restored both the house and the hotel.
To the best of my knowledge not one single person ever walked through a door at the house or hotel. Not one single person ever spent one night on the property. I seem to be the only person that ever hiked the trail or rested on the benches that line both sides of the walking bridge.
Needless to say vandals have done their work. Most of the windows are now broken and except for a newer coat of paint the property is back to the same shambles it was in ten years ago.
I have no idea why anyone would spend thousands of dollars to restore a property then let it deteriorate without ever using it. 'Tis a mystery.
Nice collection and great exposures....all of them.
Wonderful images - thanks for sharing!
