Are we still limited to firmware version 1.0? Anyone heard of any upcoming upgrades for this camera?
thanks,
ron
Ron, what does Sony’s website say?
Zero, nada, nothing - was hoping someone else had seen something, or that maybe I just hadn't gotten into the correct location at Sony. I would think it would be about time for something above the 1.0 the camera came with.

I would guess there is no upgrade, but you might call one of the bigger camera dealers and ask their customer service folks whether any firmware upgrade exists or is expected. I also skimmed thru the Sony mirrorless rumors website, but found no reference to firmware for the RX10. Nothing against Sony, but Fuji who I tend to favor, invests a lot of dollars in R&D for frequent firmware upgrades to improve their cameras and lenses.

You are talking about the fourth version of a camera that has been out and improved for years. Perhaps they have not found the need to update the software. After all, there is no need to add software for new lenses coming out, since it has the lens attached.
Agree! Don’t know how a software update could improve this Wonderful camera. I assume manufacturers update their firmware to address camera deficiencies or new lens compatibility. The Sony RX10 M4 has no deficiencies that I’m aware of.

I've had the IV since it was released and see nothing worth upgrading...

You guys make valid points with not needing an upgrade. I really can't think of anything that needs addressing either. Guess I just thought it was time. My bad.
