Photos in the Style of LeRoy Neiman

I've been using a program called Dynamic Auto Painter for a couple of years. It processes photos into "art" in the styles of various famous artists. This week, I upgraded to version 6. In addition to some new capabilities and improvements, it includes a number of templates in the style of sports artist LeRoy Neiman. I've uploaded various samples - mostly sports scenes, but some others, as well.

...and to think poor LeRoy spent days with a brush and paints making his works of art....

I like the baseball ones best. I think because it's an action sport - well, compared to golf anyway Plus you have the additional interest of the fans and players in the background of these scenes.

Do you have any controls (sliders) to produce a result that is a "hint" of the artist, but with your own twist?

Although you can simply import a photo and convert it, the program is highly customizable, and fairly complex. The PDF user manual is 169 pages long. There are about 12 tabbed pages of controls. You can also create your own art from scratch. I've attached a screenshot. The program is available to download on a trial basis. Here's their web page: https://www.mediachance.com/dap/

Let me modify one thing I said - I think you can create art from scratch, but I'm not certain. That's a new feature called U-Paint. I'm still going through the user manual.

I like the idea of taking an image that I would think of discarding and remaking it interesting.

I had Dynamic Auto Painter a few years back. I had a hard time understanding how to use it. I switched to Topaz Impression, but enjoyed your LeRoy Neiman images, so I may give it another try. Thanks. Bev

I stumbled on this program a few months ago and really like it. I have not played with the program much beyond using the canned settings. I have found it very useful when I have an image that I like, but no matter what I do with it in regards to post processing, I just can't get it 'right' for me. Then I'll try the paint program and a lot of times it works.

Kurt, I enjoyed both your painted images. I've got DAP 4.0, think I'll reload and give it a try again. Bev

I really enjoy DAP 5, and may upgrade to 6. It takes some time to learn, but the presets will get you started and enjoying the program quickly.
