I've enjoyed the features of Picasa for years, as it suits me very well.
(I have Lightroom and use it sometimes, BUT, - for my needs, Picasa is great for 90% of my photos.)

As Google seems to have discontinued support for Picasa, I am looking for something close to that same set of features including a SIMPLE set of Editing Tools, Organizing, and Storage of photos, (even if it costs a bit of money), and wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions? - Thanks!

Check out Adobe Photo Shop Elements 2019. It does all I need as an advanced amateur. You will hear the subscription sycophants advocating for the $10 buck a month rental deal, however this program does it all for me.

Another with whom I can agree. I've been using (and learning) PSE since version 7 and appreciate the many things I have learned to do with the program. I'm still learning and wanting more but taking it slow and easy. Also, I find it more reasonable to pay $60 to $80 every two or three years than to pay $120 a year, at $10 per month. The changes I've noted in the updates have been minimal even over three years (or upgrades) and I co not wish to use the cloud. I've had a hard drive crap out on me but have always kept my photos and important stuff backed up on an external or extra hard drive. Never lost anything important, yet.

I use Google Photos, this would make the ideal replacement for you. It's entirely free and there is a basic buy quite good editor.

Hi There: If you check back for about two years on this site, you'll see I asked, several times, the same thing you just did regarding Picasa. I used it for years and still do somewhat. After numerous posts, I bought Elements. It is too complicated. I ended up with Fast Stone. It's not as nice and user friendly as Picasa, but it is the best replacement and closest, for free or not. I use Fast Stone for the email end of everything, but still prefer Picasa for minor editing. Get Fast Stone and try to learn it. I have been dealing with this for two years and that is what I ended up with after all is said and done. Been there done that. It comes down to Fast Stone

Picasa was almost too easy, but take a look at ON-1, it is self explanatory and much easier than I thought but simple to learn to use. The U tubes on the product are great. It beats PS a long way in my opinion.

You got me thinking. I think I'm in the same boat as you.

I still use Picasa as my only post-processing tool. I'm old and don't like change, lol!

I tried GIMP; way too complicated for my ancient brain. I have Fast Stone; a little too restrictive. Forget the Adobe products; too much money to stay current. I can’t get ON1 to install on Windows 10. So, I’m sticking with paint.net; it’s free, easy to use, and, if you want to extend its capabilities, there are free plugins. I recognize that I can’t take a foreground object, like a person, and layer them into a different background, but that may be because I’m not smart enough to figure it out.

Why not just continue with Picasa? Why do you care if it is supported or not?

Support is not the problem with Picasa. Google set it up so you cannot email anything from it!

I found a download for Picasa. Still use it. Faststone is a good one too.

I use ON1 Photo Raw. It's a powerful and robust program. However, contrary to a previous poster's opinion, depending on what you intend to use it for, it can be a bit daunting. It also attempts to do a lot of things, so works best on a relatively powerful computer. Don't even think about using it on anything with less than 16gb and a quad core I7 processor unless you enjoy watch image rendering. All that said, I can still recommend it highly.

I bought Luminar and have enjoyed 3 major upgrades to Luminar 3 all free. What I love the most is AI 2.0 and that its library is simultaneously synchronized with my "Pictures" folder on my Mac.
Exporting and sharing are both 1 stop.
I am not one who spends time on a computer so I found both learning and using to be very efficient use of my "bad weather days"

If you enjoyed using Picasa for your photo editing, I feel that Google Photos would be worth your while to give it a try. I think you'll find it every bit as easy to use as Picasa and perhaps a little better in many respects. I still prefer Photoshop Elements, but am perfectly happy with an older version (10) that I purchased on ebay a number of year ago as it does everything I need to do plus a lot of tools I will never use. Older versions can be purchased at very reasonable prices and will serve you very well if you don't need to do video editing.
