I just ordered a camera gimbal system that looks amazing. At $35 it is inexpensive enough for me to risk it. I will post again when I have tried it.

I will be happily surprised if it's a quality product. Everything I have read, including user reviews of <$100 gimbals leads me to believe you get what you pay for. I have heard many stories of poor machining and inferior materials, which is covered up by using heavy grease. Some make them better by taking them apart, polishing out the machining marks and reassembling with premium grease. Some have even drilled out the locking knob threaded holes, tapping with a finer thread, and replacing the original locking knobs. Please let us know how it works out.

Waay back in the 80's, we had "pizza box fig rigs".
A guy at the camera swap meet (remember those?) took deep dish aftermarket cheesy steering wheels, and attached camera mounts and flash clips. No gimble, but it did make it easier to stay steady.

I may very well have wasted the money - we'll find out. I can live without the $35 and move on if that's the case. At the very least, I will let you hogs know if the product is worthwhile.

I can't see how they can produce it, market it, and ship it for $35. Smells like a scam from overseas, but I hope it's not.
