I like the second one. It feels more personal... cozy.

I'd prefer no. 1, but both are beautiful.

Indeed, as others have said, the first photograph is the winner in my mind. I like the predominance of the bass fiddle in the first, compared to the second photo where the music sheet and the fiddle compete with one another.

Each says something different. I like both of them very much. If pushed to choose one will go with #2 for the focus on detail, the texture of the bass, and the reflection of the music on the body of the bass as well as the effect of the strings crossing the corner of the music. It is much more apparent in the second shot. Fine composition in both.

...I like the first one but I would crop it differently...

Interesting. I don’t usually crop, but I like what you did.

There is a beauty to the neck and shape of the instrument that makes me vote for #1. Thanks.

Bass 1, it shows more of the Instrument and so long as that is displayed clearly most will assume that the paperwork is Musical Notation. I don't think it works as well the other way around.

I like the composition better in #1. It shows the bow hanging from the music stand and all the components sitting in the corner temporarily retired and showing more of the “place”. I think #1 tells more of a story.

I like number 2. Number 1 probably would have been my pick if you could eliminate the strap hanging below the music on the right side. A little distracting. Nice work.

I like both of them. But they "say" different things. The first one is all about the instrument. The second one is about what the instrument DOES - play music. And the music is quite complicated and wonderful. I actually like the second one better because I can see the music.

Nice tones but I would like to see the whole instrument.
