It appears the IBIS in the Z7 and Z6 is failing and they are being recalled.

All have the same IBIS mechanism, could be more recalls as they have technicians to work on them. Can't do them all at once.

...I went to the Nikon site when this came up (Nikonians is a good resource for this stuff). It asked that I type in my serial number and I did so. Immediately received a return notification that my camera needed no maintenance. I notice you only shoot Canon, why are you so interested? I'm happy...going out the door to shoot with the thing!

Every manufacturer goes thru this. Nikon is being forthright, taking ownership of the issue and offering to repair cameras affected. They sound like a good vendor to me.

...yup. I'm not concerned at all, if I have to take mine in for anything I hand carry to Nikon in LA and they'll do whatever is necessary. <shrug>

I actually have several Nikon cameras as well as lenses.

A relatively small number of cameras are involved.

But, if it helps you fell better by taking shots at Nikon, what the hell go for it.

Not taking a shot, just informing.

...that's fine, but, really, you'd think (t'ink?) that we who took the plunge into the Z line would stay up on things...kinda? So, you "informing" is a nice redundancy, but gets folks thinking in a negative direction, eh?

Maybe the architect needs to go back to his home in the attic.

Here is why.
If you did not buy your Z camera new but from someone who decided they didn't want it and did NOT get it fixed or tell you it is on a recall list. You then have no idea about this issue and get screwed by buying a defective camera etc.
This is why it is good to know even if it does not affect you at that moment. Nikon will NOT be sending recall notices to non-Z owners so they will be clueless about it.
This is why we have this forum to inform.
