If I don't know the number, or if they don't leave a message; I don't answer. I then put them on the FTC Do Not Call List. It works!

Haha, the Do Not Call list,... right. When most hang up IMMEDIATELY when you mention the list....
Doesn't work for calls from other countries, over VIOP either.

I use ROBO KILLER for mobile devices and CPR CALL-BLOCKER 10000 for land-lines. Both work well. The CPR device is pretty fool-proof and really stops the nonsense. The mobile app is not as good, but is worth the monthly rate. Good luck!

It is the best $119 I could have spent in 2019. According to news reports, we can expect Robo calls to continue into 2020.

Yes, there is a way. Buy a CPR Vxxx call blocker. They have several models available. THEY WORK! They have thousands of telemarketer numbers programmed into them, so the calls are blocked. Besides that, you can push the big red button if a call gets through, and it will be blocked in the future. One odd thing: my phone will ring once - or maybe just half a ring - when the device takes a second to determine that a call is a telemarketer. I have up to a dozen rings like that each day.

Legally, certain types of calls are allowed through - charities and politicians - but you can block them manually.

$89 and $99. Isn't that worth not getting crank calls?

What does it do to those calls that have phony caller ID numbers? I once had one that had MY number on it? I usually ask what number they are calling from (or what city they are in). That dumbfounds them. And then I tell them to go f*&K themselves.

My solution, and it doesn't cost anything and nothing to install. Just ignore any calls from numbers not in my contacts list.

Soul, I like your idea, but constant flow of ringing phone, typically 6 to 10 rings before they stop, that would drive me crazy. I know, it seems that Jerry and I are super advocated of buying the blocking device. But remember, do NOT answer the call, ever. When you pick up and either hear silence, or the prerecorded: Hello, I'm Mary, and this call is being recorded, and ......" they hang up. They are looking for ""live"" phone numbers. Answering gives them the answer...your phone number is a ""live"" one, and therefore more will be coming.

Besides the one-ring-CPR Blocking calls, I'm adding at least two, maybe four new numbers every day. But the peace comes knowing those numbers will be blocked forever more.

I have my phone ringer on silent mode. When I get a call, my smart watch buzzes to alert me. I look at the number on my watch display, and if it is not from someone in my contact list, I ignore it.

No. I just hang up.
Principle. I pay for the phone. Now I have to pay for certain people not to be able to call me?
If I received dozens a day, I'd get a different number.

I have an app for my iPhone called Malware Bytes. It displays a message, “Known Scammer,” when I get a Robocall. Then I press the (I) next to the callers number & choose, “Block This Caller.” Before Malwarebytes I’d answer the call & just say, “Hello.” No answer...hang up & block it.

I’ve been doing this for about 3 years & now I rarely get a robocall on my iPhone. If I get 2 a week, that’s a lot.
iPhones seem to have no limit but my friend’s android only allows about 100 blocked calls.

BTW, I’ve been using MalwareBytes for about 5 years on my PC & wife’s MacBook Air. Great program.

If you use AT&T they offer an app called Call Protect. They block calls at their server. You can also block calls. Amazing how many kick calls I get from my area cold.
