just changed my plan i had a $59/month package when i was doing web stuff etc, but no longer do that. i only need photo editing. i don't need cloud storage either. use photoshop vs lightroom, so i changed to the $9.99 plan. No problems transitioning, software works fine.

This has been posted before. And Adobe responded that it is BS.....

No, it's not.

Go to the Adobe website and see for yourself.

They still offer the Lightroom/Photoshop CC combo, with 20GB of "cloud storage", subscription for $10 a month. That's the same they charged in the past. (Have they reduced the amount of storage?).

They now also offer LR/PS CC combo with 1TB of cloud storage, for $20 a month subscription (I don't know how much, if any cloud storage they offered in the past).

The also now offer LR CC separately with 1TB of cloud storage for $10 a month subscription (requires Windows 10 or Mac OSX 10.11 or later).

Additional cloud storage space can be rented, in 1TB increments, for $10 per month per 1TB.

There are numerous other possible combos with Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere, etc.

Adobe has simply added more options... some the same price... some higher priced, but supposed with more to offer.

What jumped out at me was that LR Classic appears to only be available in the LR/PS combos. If you are using an older Windows or Mac operating system, you will need to go with one of those LR/PS CC combo subscription plans, can't subscribe to LR Classic separately, in the same way that LR CC is offered above.

Note: Adobe estimates that 20GB of cloud storage will accommodate 4000 JPEGs or 400 RAW files and that 1TB of cloud storage can handle 200,000 JPEGs or 20,000 RAW. Of course, file sizes vary a lot from camera to camera and even some size variation from shot to shot with the same camera!

The false rumor refereed to in the title was that Adobe is raising the price of the basic monthly subscription. Since that subscription and its price are remaining the same it is BS.
Adobe is offering an additional subscription plan that includes 1TB of cloud storage for 20 bucks. A new plan at a higher price is not a price increase, it is a new plan.

First of all I only became aware of the rumored price increase from an email I received that was hawking a competitive product. Maybe the doubling of the cost is true; but maybe it is not.

Regardless, if you have the patience and a subscription that will soon expire:
Contact Adobe on line help. They will reassure you that there is no price increase anticipated. This is to get you to go away, but the customer representatives (somewhere outside of the U.S.A.) are not privy to this sort of information. Then they will offer to cancel and reinstate your subscription at the current rate; thereby guaranteeing no price increase until it is time for the future automatic renewal. At this point, if you remind them that cancellation will result in "?" months of loss of service, they will offer credit for the time lost. Eventually, they will seamlessly renew your agreement for another year from the date you contact them, at the price you are currently paying.

My subscription was to renew this July. While Adobe would not simply extend it, they did offer the process I describe and I am now set until May of 2020 at the $20/month cost. I had to prepay (as I did when I originally took out the subscription) but I am now locked in. To be honest, I would have paid the increase if it had been announced prior to my original renewal date

Regardless, I will NOT be renewing my Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop subscription. I've found CaptureOne and Affinity Photo adequately provide ALL the functionality I require with a smaller footprint and faster performance.

"From time to time, we run tests on Adobe.com which cover a range of items, including plan options that may or may not be presented to all visitors to Adobe.com. We are currently running a number of tests on Adobe.com." (my color emphasis)

So some people will see the $9.99 plan and some people will see the $19.99 plan. The $9.99 plan is still available currently. If you are seeing the $19.99 plan, there are two things you can try: (1) use an anonymous or incognito browser as some people report that the targeted web page will default to the $9.99 version on an anonymous browser; or (2) check out http://www.adobe.com/go/photo18sptst

Just got my notice of renewal from Adobe that will be effective 6/9/19. Same $120 per year as last time.
