I never thought I'd have a capture like this to post in this section. It's been a long road.
Congratulations Neil. Patience pays off. Very nice capture.

Congratulations. It's always nice to fulfill a longstanding wish.
I also have been trying very hard to capture this gorgeous ducks in flight. They are very fast and skittish. Well done!!!

Thank you, ozmerelda. I managed five (I think), photos of woodies in flight over three days. It is all in the technique (which I'm willing to share with anyone interested), and the physical location, (which, I believe, leaves Florida out of it. But I'm sure there are other attributes that will work the same). Oh, yes. A good helping of LUCK.

Thanks for having a look and comment, Steve. Believe me, this was not my first encounter with the beauty of the drake Wood Duck in breeding plumage. With the good fortune of playing peek-a-boo with them for around 100 shots the routine is camera set, approach window unseen, expose self and press the shutter, hope for the best.
