Losing the eyecup

I seem to have lost the eyecup on my Nikon D750, I just noticed it was gone. Don't know how, when, or where! After doing some research, it appears to be a design flaw with the D70. Just wondering if any other Hoggers have experienced this, and if so, did you come up with a viable solution, other than carrying some extras in your camera gear bag.

I have 'lost' the eyecup from my D7100 several times - and found it several times. At the present time, it is AWOL. Generally, I discover it somewhere in the bowels of my camera bag which has many little hiding places. It seems that the eyecup does loosen up with time.

Anybody from Nikon listening?

I have lost 4 or 5 of them. Don't even bother any more. Bad design flaw, but still a great camera. Check out Ali Express for replacements. They are only $1 or so and virtually the same as OEM hut a fraction of the cost. I got 10 of them and have lost quite a few.

The problem is not exclusive to Nikon --- When I shot with the Canon 5DMkii I always kept an extra 2/3 in the bag & eventually used them all -- They must have done a rework --- zero issues with my current Canon --

I had a similar problem (?) with my Sony a6000. So, I bought two, then used the tiniest drop of super glue when I attached the first replacement. It's not going ANYWHERE! I'm hoping the second will entice someone if I elect someday to sell the camera.

The only cameras I have with slip-on eyecups are my Canons, and they regularly fall off as well. My Nikons have internal viewfinder shutters so they never have "eyecups" to lose. But back when I used a D7000 heavily I did lose a couple of those eyecups.

Just the nature of the beast!!
Anything that is easy to remove is easy to lose. I think most of my cameras no longer have their eye cups.
I have not lost a wink of sleep over them.

No. We are now concerned about the ducks going barefoot.

I use the hoodman eye cup on all my cameras..both Nikon and Sony. They are camera specific. I have the large ones which work great with my glasses. Helps to block out the light.

I too have lost a few off the D750, usually when putting the camera in my back pack. Tired of buying new ones (which I did). While I was at my dentist, I asked for a dab of denture adhesive (I think it was Fixident) which she gave me a bit in a zip lock, when I got home I layed a thin bead of the adhesive in the top groove on the camera with my finger, slid the eyepiece down...hasn't come off in months.

Mine has stayed in place, but if losing it is an issue, buy spares. If you don't plan to remove it - ever - glue it in place.

I wrapped black thread around the spot it slides on. Slid on the eyecup and now it stays on.

Sony was the absolute worse for dropping off. I just ordered spares.

I have lost a couple off my D7200, I ordered spares to carry in my camera bag. Not sure they are really needed.
