Lasic has a 96% success rate. Not high enough for me to risk it. With the millions done that means that hundreds of thousands of people are not happy

I used to wear contacts (hard and gas perm) and I was told to never wear them when I sleep. Your eye needs to get O2 to stay healthy. Have needed to wear corrective lens since the 50's. Glasses are so light now it is not a pain. Have no problem with using a camera with glasses.

My vision was horrible as a teenager and through my 20's, glasses and later contacts. Then in my late thirties it started to "self improve" and gradually returned to 20/20 range (what a blessing, some folks get rich, or become stars, I got near perfect vision, no complaints!!), so my 40-66 run was w/o glasses/contacts (my eye doc said I was one of the lucky suckers that this occasionally happens to). The last couple years I have noticed minor changes but not enough to cause a return to glasses/contacts, I do sometimes use readers (150 to 225's) for finite repair work or fine detail processes, extremely small print, otherwise just sunglasses, but when the time comes I will get lenses, or maybe do Lasic.

I've heard that 'snakeoil' in liberal quantities works, too. If lasic is similar to laser treatment, I'd shy away from that also; there can be serious repercussions to laser treatment.

I'm having trouble, myself. I have cataracts in both eyes and surgery is scheduled for June. I'm really happy with autofocus and check pictures after they have been taken for sharpness (often on my monitor and not on the camera screen). I don't rely on echolocation for focal distance, yet.

I have been shooting with glasses for the past 30 years, absolutely no issues.

I prefer to use my camera.

I just use half frame reading glasses to focus and look over the top of them to look at what I am taking a picture of. Although I have bifocals and have had progressive lenses this is my preferred method as my distance prescription is very slight.

No, thanks. I just had cataract surgery with a toric lens implant that's engineered to compensate for my astigmatism. No problem except my glasses frames are at the eye lab to get new lenses so I'm using my husbands old Walmart readers for closeup work (like reading UHH).

No thanks, I been wearing glasses since 1971. And with my cameras with diopter adjustments I take my glasses off when shooting.

Transitional glasses and a wide brim hat does the trick for me. Been shooting like this for years, players and fans know me by my shirts and hats.

Do you have problems with your vision and photography or shooting with glasses? I've just seen a story on the news about corneal re-shaping contact lenses which are worn at night that allow you to see 20/20 during the day. It costs about $1000/yr. If you'd be interested, google corneal re-shaping contact lenses.

Interesting.
I have 20/20 but due to age the eye is not as flexible to focus close. I doubt this can be fixed without glasses.

I have been shooting with glasses since high school. I don't mind the glasses until u can't find them. Then I will ask my wife if she saw my glasses. She just giggles and tells me they are on my head.
