We will be staying overnight in Cincinnati tomorrow and will have a few hours for photo opportunities. Any suggestions? We like parks and outdoorsy stuff.
Their zoo is excellent. The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge is a must, can walk back n forth to Kentucky. From the KY side, great opportunities of the city skyline & lights at dawn or dusk w/ tripod. If you have a wide angle with you, tour the inside of the restored terminal at Union Terminal (Art Deco train station).
As CHG stated, the skyline from the edge of the Ohio river on the Kentucky side presents an awe skyline. You will find a nice shot of the city from Devou Park, also on the Kentucky side.
Mount Adams is great for a skyline view. Eden Park is beautiful...recommend more during the day.
Yeah, the overlook in Devou Park is possibly the best overall view point of the downtown area and frequently photographed. If you like that sort of thing, I'd also recommend going to the observation deck on the Crew Tower for a wonderful 360 degree view of the entire area. The Zoo, the Art Muesum, and the Natural History Muesum (housed in an Art Deco era train station) are also interesting and photogenic. For something a bit different, I'd also recommend the Sign Museum. This place has a remarkable collection of old signage, much of it neon, etc. Well worth checking out if you have the time. Travel safely, enjoy my neck of the woods, and good luck and good shooting to all.
We call it the PURPLE BRIDGE, 'cause it is purple. Walk to KY and have lunch. Bring a padlock to lock your love to Ohio. And our zoo is world renown.
I forgot to mention that B&B Riverboats offers sight seeing cruises up and down the river and I've gotten some great shots and enjoyed the cruise many times now. They offer both sight seeing and dinner cruises if interested. There is also a park at the end of Riverboat Row, the road inside the flood wall, that accesses B&B Riverboats. It's a great area for night skyline pictures and is situated directly across the river from Great American Stadium, the Reds ball park. They generally have fireworks after Friday night home games and this is a popular spot when they do, so get there early to set up your tripod if interested. You should also consider trying some of our legacy junk food at Skyline Chili or one of the other Cincinnati Chili parlors while your here. Order a 3-way and a cheese coney and your in for a treat that most of us around here simply have to give in to frequently. Again, good luck, travel safely, and be sure to post some of the pictures for us.

Thanks for the info once again. We visited many many years ago before I got interested in photography so I'm looking forward to our visit. This will be a layover on our trip up to visit my sister in Chicago. We are staying in Cincinnati again next Saturday on our trip back home to Tennessee.
Sawyer point if the weather is nice. Its the walk on the riverfront just south of the stadium. The railway terminal museum is great, nut not walkable if you are staring downtown. if you are able, walk over the bridge to the others side, great skyline shots, particularly of bridges,
