Firmware Update to Fuji X-T30

This update, just a few days old, delays activation of the Q-Menu when you (accidentally) hit the Q button. Google will find the X-T30 firmware update.

"Fujifilm also announced another X-T30 firmware update coming in June 2019."

Sweet. I'm always in need of a new camera. If I were to let that need get near my wallet, it might very well be a X-T30!

Well, I'm not sorry I bought it. Unfortunately, it looks like Xume doesn't make a 39mm magnetic adapter. I was going to use a clear filter as my lens cap. Easy on and easy off. I could use a step-up ring, but then the lens hood won't fit.

I have a (expensive to me) Lumix 100-400 lens. It doesn't work for shooting interiors very well so I take it outside a lot. It seemed logical to protect the lens with a filter and I'm in the group that believes clear or UV filters don't screw things up. For months, I couldn't seem to get the sharpness the lens was rumored to produce. One day I took the filter off and my shots got clearer. It may be that lens with it's "extreme" optics does not like clear filters. But, I'm no longer a filter fan.

That's why I like Xume - on and off in less that a second.

Thank you for posting this, Jerry, I was unaware of this system, and it does look good.

Use a step-ring or rings to get to your XUME size. I do that with my 50mm lens.

It's better than good. I just wish they were more readily available and offered in more sizes.

I might resort to that, but the lens hood won't fit. At least I don't think so.

What brand of filter were you using when you noticed the sharpness falling off?

Tiffen. But, I emphasize this is hunch based. Other changes in how I hold it, set the shutter speed, etc. might also been what caused a perceived improvement in the images.
