I waited a few years for this shot of the bird and the reflection to happen at the same time. It was always no bird or too windy or the sunset was not right with a warm glow. I had to wait for the water to settle between frames from the birds moving and fishing for minnows. The light was fading fast and had 5 minute window to make it happen.

Thanks DougS, I need to have goals in my photography and patience I have plenty of it. Some shots I had to wait for camera technology to catch up. When Nikon released the D500 10 FPS fast AF system was a big help to some of my goals.
Just one extra piece of FYI. This is looking away from the setting sun. On clear winter days the reverse sky will glow just enough of a band on color in the sky plus the light source is over your shoulder and gives you extra light on the white bird. It is a pinkish color in the sky but when you color correct the blue out from the over head sky it makes the bird white and gives the water a nice orangeade pink glow.
Thanks Nalu, I worked hard for this image please indulge me putting a copyright across the bird.
No problem at all. Again, great image. Love the detail in the water at the plane of focus on the bird and then moving off into just color. Nicely done!
