Aurora is offering $20 off; does anybody have any actual usage opinions ?
I see it on Amazon for $99. One review says:
"This program freezes my computer every time I attempt to export images back to Lightroom Clasic CC. Doing a google search for a fix to this issue, it seems like it is a fairly common problem. If your work-flow is based out of Lightroom, I would strongly recommend waiting until this is fixed before considering this software."
Another review echos this an says Aurora's PC's memory mgt is abysmal. Maybe on the Apple it's better.

I use Aurora fairly frequently and have never had any problems with it at all. I have been pleased with the results I get, too.
Oops. Those reviews were for the 2018 version. The "Aurora HDR 2019 - HDR Image Enhancing Program" has five 5-star reviews.
FYI, that 2019 version is also $99 on Amazon. Are you finding it less expensive somewhere else?
Carol: I looked at your pictures in Flicker - very nice. My favorite was the sunset over water by the shore. Beautiful.
tks,
Chuck
I have a discount code for Aurora and Luminar.
PM me if interested.
I use Aurora 2019 on my Macs and get really good results. I really like the program. Do the 30 day trial if in doubt. I bought on special at $79.00.
I use Aurora HDR 2018 and 2019 and like them both but not on every image. I am amazed at the detail that can be pulled out on some images. Just move the slider to 50% or less application...sometimes even that is way over done. No issues with its function as a plug-in with LR.

I've been using the 2018 version of Aurora HDR for a couple of months, launching it out of Lightroom. No issues.
I use Aurora HDR as my primary editor and not had any problems with either the 2018 or 2019 editions. I have an IMac 21.5 3.2ghz, 32 gig ram. If I use any other software it is Affinity for focus stacking then imported into Aurora HDR as a jpeg then converted into an HDR and processed. Hope this helps. Buy the software. You’ll like it.

I bought Aurora in March and have been using it on my landscape shots. I find that their "library" of presets can go overboard in some HDR "looks" and result in what I call a"cooked" image - i.e. very oversaturated. For the presets that I use, I start at 50% and wiggle it around. As a result, I have gotten some nice HDR versions of may originals. Since Aurora's library of processing tools in far smaller than Luminar 2018, I use the latter more often. All my work is done on a Mac. Overall, Aurora is good for improving some images I would not use it as a general post-processing program.
If the developers keep sending out free updates as they did to fix library problems in Luminar III, I have no reason to look elsewhere. Getting comfortable with the library part of Luminar III is a project for this summer. Meanwhile, version 2018 is just fine!
